Connecting Michigan, From Internet Inequality to Digital Equality

In this episode of The Mike Muse Show, we had the pleasure of discussing digital inclusion. Our guest included FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks, U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14), City of Detroit Director of Digital Inclusion Joshua Edmonds, Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist, and U.S. Representative Elissa Slotkin.

This event explored how the digital divide has exacerbated already existing inequities that impact the city of Detroit and other similarly situated cities in Michigan and throughout the United States.

Panelists presented solutions for addressing the digital divide on a local, state, and federal level and particularly focused on the urgent matter of connecting children, low-income communities, and communities of color to affordable and reliable broadband. The meeting was held on May 7, 2020 via conference call.
