Perilous Policies of Xenophobia

We explore contemporary xenophobia through the lens of the film Where Hands Touch, set in Germany between WW1 & WW2. Its a story about the existence and ostracisation of Black German Nationals. This historical narrative informs current xenophobia that exists in Europe currently, the policies being passed to restrict immigration, and the role German Chancellor Angela Merkal has played in dealing with Europe’s influx of refugees. We juxtapose Europe’s xenophobia to America’s xenophobia of immigrants, refugees, Muslim Americans, and what type of policies are being advocated for the Muslim American community
